Art District in San Jose del Cabo - A Vibrant Tapestry of Culture

In the charming town of San Jose del Cabo, I discovered an artistic treasure waiting to be explored. The cobbled streets led me to galleries showcasing captivating artworks in their windows. I immersed myself in the vibrant art scene, visiting unique galleries that housed fine art installations and featured talented artists like Ivan Guarderama, who created mesmerizing interactive art.

As I walked through the city center, I was serenaded by lively music and witnessed the local community passionately practicing their dances on stage. The Mexican banners fluttered in the breeze, and the enchanting melodies from restaurants and laid-back bars filled the air. San Jose del Cabo is a true gem, brimming with culture, color, and warm Mexican hospitality.

We had the opportunity to visit Ivan Guarderama's gallery, where I experienced interactive art for the first time. The level of creativity and innovation displayed in his work left me in awe. For those visiting San Jose del Cabo, I recommend exploring the city during the Thursday evening art walk from November to June, where shops and galleries open their doors to visitors, creating a vibrant atmosphere of art and community.

Los Cabos brought thrilling adventures and rejuvenating experiences.

First, I embarked on a Cabo Boat Tour with Cabo Adventures. This exhilarating ride along the coastline of Los Cabos offered breathtaking views of Chileno Bay, the iconic Arch, Lovers Beach, and playful sea lions. Cabo Adventures supplied everything for a day on the water - snorkeling, paddleboarding, and water scooting! Our little jet boat was for adventure lovers + families but the company also provides various levels of tours on catamarans or private tours. For me, this is the #1 must-do for visitors looking for an up-close and active experience of the stunning Los Cabos coast!

Esencia Wellness was a sensory delight from start to finish.

Upon entering the spa located at Nobu Hotel, I was greeted by a serene ambiance that instantly transported me to a state of relaxation. The extensive range of amenities at my disposal left me spoilt for choice. I began by immersing myself in the soothing warmth of the steam room, allowing the gentle heat to ease my muscles and cleanse my pores. From there, I ventured into the invigorating sauna, where the dry heat rejuvenated my body and invigorated my senses.

The masterfully designed interior spaces, adorned with contemporary art, seamlessly blend with local elements, providing an organic touch. Although I didn't experience the garden, the iconic outdoor terrace surrounded by an extraordinary garden must be a sight to behold.

A culinary delight at Acre

This vibrant dining experience nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains offered a convivial and cosmopolitan atmosphere, reflecting a deep respect for the surroundings and a free-spirited sensibility. The heart and soul of Acre resided in its restaurant and bar, where a marriage of global influences and local ingredients created an ever-evolving menu that celebrated the seasons.

At Acre, I had the pleasure of participating in a cooking class hosted by Executive Chef Arturo Rivero. We embarked on a farm tour, immersing ourselves in the lush organic farms that supplied the restaurant with fresh produce. Acre truly embraced the farm-to-table concept, showcasing a love and respect for sustainability and quality. Even the fish served at the restaurant was sustainably farmed onsite, ensuring freshness and minimizing any fishy smell.

During the cooking class, we created a tantalizing three-course tasting menu. We started with a refreshing ceviche, bursting with the flavors of the sea. They accommodated my vegetarian restrictions with a replacement of CousCous for fish. Next, we indulged in a classic Mexican mole served over enchiladas, a rich and complex dish that highlighted the depth of Mexican cuisine which smelt heavenly. Finally, for dessert, we savored Arroz con leche infused with almond milk and white chocolate—a sweet and creamy delight. We loved watching the assistant Chef David garnish each dish with fresh edible flowers.

Aside from the exceptional culinary experience, Acre Resort is captivated with its unique charm and allure. Recently voted the #3 sexiest resort in the world by Cosmopolitan, Acre offered stunning treehouse rooms that provided an intimate and immersive stay among the trees. With outdoor showers and an atmosphere of natural beauty, these treehouse accommodations were truly extraordinary. Additionally, Acre also boasted villas for residency and timeshare options, contemporary homes nestled in the jungle, blending seamlessly with the surroundings.

A journey of exploration led me to the remarkable ACRE Villas during my recent escapade to Los Cabos. Enveloped in a world saturated with constant stimulation, these villas emerged as a sanctuary, celebrating the art of embracing life's subtle pleasures. With every step, I became captivated by the harmonious fusion of refined elegance and natural beauty that defined this extraordinary community.

As I embarked on a tour of the ACRE Villas, I was enveloped in a tranquil ambiance that whispered of a life steeped in serenity. From savoring morning coffee on a private balcony to embarking on invigorating rides to the captivating shores of the East Cape, I imagined each day unfolding with endless possibilities. Sun-drenched yoga sessions, farm-grown breakfasts, and refreshing dips in plunge pools invigorated both body and soul. I lost myself in exploring the verdant mango groves, which provided a picturesque backdrop for indulging in delectable meals at the renowned on-site restaurant and savoring moments of connection around a cozy fire pit.

Acre Resort's cooking class and overall experience were a testament to their respect and inspiration drawn from the bountiful Los Cabos region. The combination of farm-to-table dining, unique accommodations, and a deep connection to nature set Acre apart from other resorts. It was an unforgettable culinary journey that embraced the beauty and flavors of Los Cabos, leaving me with a profound appreciation for the sustainable practices and incredible offerings at Acre Resort.

Day 5 —

a truly transformative experience through a Mexican Sound Healing session

Also known as Sound Therapy or Sonotherapy, this practice involves the application of vibratory and musical instruments, including the voice, on the physical body to influence the energy fields of the person. The principle of resonance plays a significant role in sonotherapy, where vibrations are used to bring the body and mind to a state of harmony and healing.

During the Mexican Sound Healing experience, we were guided through meditative practices, and breathing rituals, and exposed to high-frequency vibrations. Our teacher skillfully led us on a journey of deep relaxation and inner exploration. The sound bath had a profound impact, helping to alleviate anxiety, depression, and even physical ailments.
