3 Home Studio Photography Must-Haves
After posting a behind-the-scenes TikTok of my photoshoot with my wonderful model, Acea Jason, so many people had questions about my homestudio setup!
I'm excited to share that I was able to snag some amazing deals on Amazon Prime and create a fantastic home photoshoot setup for under $260. My focus was on finding affordable but high-quality products, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I want to debunk the notion that expensive, high-end equipment is necessary for a successful home photoshoot. This affordable setup is a great starting point, and you can always add to it over time.
Here is a simple breakdown of the items I used with links to where I got everything!

Backdrop Stand | $48.99
I'm so excited to tell you about the 8.5x10 Ft backdrop stand I bought! To be honest, I think I could have gone with a slightly narrower model, but overall, it's been a great addition to my setup. Plus, it's fully collapsible and super easy to set up, so you don't have to be a pro to get it up and running. While I haven't used the sandbags yet, the clips have been a total lifesaver in keeping everything in place. Trust me, this backdrop stand will make your photos look amazing!
Seamless Backdrop Paper | $39.00
Let me fill you in on a little secret for choosing the perfect paper for your backdrop: it all depends on the width of your backdrop! Lucky for you, Amazon has a fantastic selection of fun color packs to choose from. And here's a pro tip: even if you can't find the exact shade you want, you can always make HSL-Color edits in Lightroom after you've taken your photos. For my setup, I went with classic white because it's such a versatile option, but I'm already itching to add more shades to my collection over time. Trust me, you'll be amazed at how much of a difference a great backdrop can make for your photos!

Soft Box | $169
Let me tell you, I spent hours researching the best light for portraits, and I am so excited to share my findings with you! With so many shapes and brands out there, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one. But fear not, because the light I'm recommending is an absolute game-changer. It's a constant bright light with an Octobox umbrella, which creates gorgeous, even lighting for your photos. Unlike some other lights out there, this one doesn't flash via Bluetooth - it's all about simplicity and ease of use. Plus, it's a breeze to set up, and the self-cooling fan ensures it won't overheat.
First Shoot Results!
Here are the results of my photoshoot using all the gear I just listed above! I couldnβt believe how fantastic this looked in my living room. Of course, I did some photoshopping here and there to fill out the edges but WOW! I shot all of these with a 35mm f1.4. You can find all my camera gear HERE.
