A Stylish Retreat: My Taiwan Adventure at HOTEL PROVERBS

I'm thrilled to recount my first-ever journey to Taiwan, starting with my exceptional stay at HOTEL PROVERBS Taipei. As I stepped into this splendid establishment, my excitement knew no bounds. Located in the vibrant East District of Taipei, HOTEL PROVERBS Taipei, a part of GLORIA HOTEL GROUP, is truly a treasure. Its design seamlessly blends sophistication, luxury, serenity, and tranquility. I couldn't believe I was about to embark on such a remarkable adventure.

The exterior of the hotel, expertly crafted by renowned architect Ray Chen, is a visual masterpiece. Its post-modern and environmentally conscious design is a marvel to behold, with abundant sunlight streaming in through meshes, and lush greenery harmoniously coexisting with modern elements. Inside, the hotel exudes warmth with copper accents, mellow wood, textured leather, and delicate fabrics. The guest rooms, ranging from 33mΒ² to 49mΒ², defy traditional layouts, offering a unique and individualized experience.

My journey began at Taoyuan International Airport, where I landed before taking the High-Speed Rail Train to Taipei Main Station. From there, a quick ride on the Blue Line brought me to the zaixihou Fux stop, just a short 7-minute walk from HOTEL PROVERBS. Upon arrival at this luxurious establishment, I was escorted to my room on the 10th floor, and I was immediately captivated by the meticulous craftsmanship.

Inspired by Francisco Goya's 19th-century print series "Proverbios," known for its surreal scenes, the hotel incorporates copper, wood, leather, stone, and delicate fabrics into its design, mirroring the essence of the prints. Each room is thoughtfully designed, with different flooring indicating separate areas for relaxation, lounging, and bathing. The room has expansive windows and a balcony offering breathtaking views of the nearby mountains, which seem to touch the clouds.

Rooftop Pool

Nestled on the 12th floor, the hotel's rooftop pool is a hidden gem that offers an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling city. What sets this pool apart is not just its serene ambiance but also its captivating design. Enclosed within a caged metal facade, the pool area features intricate cut-outs that reveal breathtaking glimpses of the iconic Taipei 101 in the distance, adding a touch of wonder to your swim. This unique black metal screen facade, with its play of light and shadow, not only veils the main structure but also serves as a bridge between two seemingly contrasting worlds, blending the contemporary allure of modernity with the soothing embrace of tranquility. It's a place where you can soak in the beauty of Taipei's skyline while indulging in moments of relaxation, making it the true highlight of my stay at the hotel.

L’IDIOT RESTAURANT

L’IDIOT RESTAURANT, situated on the hotel's first floor, was our delightful culinary experience specializing in Italian cuisine. During our stay, we were thrilled to begin our mornings at L'idiot for breakfast, an amenity included with our stay. The breakfast menu presented three delectable options: Meat, Salmon, or seafood congee. Without hesitation, we both chose the Salmon with pink peppercorn and pinenuts for two consecutive mornings, and it was an absolute delight. Each plate featured impeccably scrambled eggs, a lightly dressed balsamic salad, and rosemary-infused potatoes. What truly elevated our dining experience were the lattes and cappuccinos, crafted very well and adorned with the option to add a RAW sugar cube. As if that wasn't enough, the restaurant's decor was a visual masterpiece, with a multi-story chandelier room creating an enchanting illusion of infinite grandeurβ€”a feature that unquestionably became my second favorite aspect of this remarkable establishment.

EAST END BAR

But that's not all; for those who love nightlife, EAST END, one of Asia's 50 Best Bars, is right in the hotel on the third floor. Inspired by east London's bar culture, EAST END offers a relaxing and indulging experience with upscale surroundings and outstanding cuisine.

HOTEL PROVERBS Taipei is more than just a place to stay; it's a canvas for travelers to create their own stories. It caters to all sensesβ€”taste, sight, and touchβ€”and offers an unforgettable journey through Taiwan.

I can't wait to share more about my Taiwan adventures, but for now, I'll continue to savor every moment in this luxurious haven.
