Living Among The Trees: My Unforgettable Stay at Acre Resort's Treehouse

Revisiting Acre Resort this time around, I was fortunate enough to experience a stay in one of their unique treehouse accommodations. Having first visited for a cooking class in May 2023, my brief yet memorable time at Acre had left a lasting impression, and I found myself longing to return. The property has won several awards from it’s cocktails, to its sexy ambiance, and even has been written about in Conde Nast receiving high praise of its hospitality and design. The resort had transformed from merely a culinary destination to a sanctuary of tranquillity and natural beauty that I was eager to explore further.

This time, we lodged in Treehouse #15, one of the several treehouses sprinkled across the property. A climb up two flights of stairs leads you to your own private hideaway, a haven nestled amidst the tree tops. The cozy setting, an oasis of calm and solitude, was complete with an outdoor shower, a seating area, and a queen-sized bed adorned with the finest linens. The designers have ingeniously utilized the space to include a water closet with a sink and a small closet, ensuring that every convenience was just a step away. There's even a hidden mini-fridge tucked away in the patio table, a delightful surprise that added to the charm of the treehouse.

The experience of living amidst the palm tree tops is one of supreme privacy and tranquillity. The only sounds that punctuated the serene silence were the occasional footsteps of fellow guests navigating the path below. The outdoor shower was a surprising delight, offering a magical experience of bathing under the stars, with the cool night breeze as your companion. Bug screens installed on every wall ensured a pest-free stay, another thoughtful touch that made the stay comfortable and enjoyable.

My passion for photography has taken me all over the world which lead to the development of a Lightroom Preset pack I swear by!

The Acre property is a beautifully manicured tropical landscape, home to acres of farmland where ingredients for their restaurant and bar are cultivated. Walking through the property, I was enamored by the lush greenery and the symphony of sounds from the resident wildlife. Their award-winning cocktails are a must-try, especially the unforgettable tequila and fresh watermelon concoction I had the pleasure of savoring. The burst of flavors was a testament to the fresh, farm-grown ingredients used in their preparation.

At Acre, savor the unique small batch Mezcal, La Tierra De Acre Mezcal. Don't miss the chance to indulge in a complimentary tasting before your meal at Acre Restaurant. Each shot is expertly paired with grapefruit, orange, chocolate, and even crickets.

The Acre resort is a vibrant hub of activities that offer endless entertainment for guests of all ages. The diverse array of attractions includes a heartwarming puppy rescue center, adorable baby goats, majestic horses, a friendly donkey named Burrito, elegant free-roaming peacocks, a charming bunny pen, and exciting pickleball courts, ensuring visitors are thoroughly engaged in a world of fun and relaxation at every delightful corner of the resort.

The highlight, however, was the most stunning swimming pool I have ever seen. Nestled amidst the greenery, the pool was a refreshing oasis that beckoned for a leisurely swim. Mango groves and paths adorned with beautiful tropical flowers and foliage connect it all, creating a paradise that truly deserves its recent spot in the top 25 Traveller's Choice Best of the Best awards for B&Bs in Mexico.

In contrast to my previous post that highlighted the unique charm and allure of Acre Resort, this time I can confidently say that it's more than just a culinary journey. It's an immersive experience that brings you closer to nature, offering a stay that is as unique as it is unforgettable. Every moment spent at Acre Resort was a celebration of the sheer joy of living, of embracing the simplicity and beauty of life, and of forging a deeper connection with nature.
